Foreword

It is my great pleasure and honor to host the 10th international Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments(ISMTII2011) at KAIST. The Symposium is being steered by the International Committee on Measurements and Instrumenttation (ICMI)and supported by the Korean Society of Precision Engineering (KSPE) and also by the Japan Society for Precision Engineering (JSPE). In continuation of the successful series of previous nine ISMTII symposiums held every two years, this 10th symposium is aimed to provide a forum to bring together experts working in the field precision metrology and instrumentation from all around the world.

The four-day symposium from 29th June to 2nd July, 2011 will be focused on technical exchanges of the current state-of-the-art and future perspectives of measurement and instrumentation technologies and also timely instroduction of current activities of related industries and research institutions. I look forward to your
 
participation and hope to see you enjoy all the oral and poster presentations as well as the science city of Daejeon and the tradition of South Korea. Finally, I would like to express my appreciation for the financial support from the BK21 Valufacture Institute at KAIST.
